We will meet at River of Life at 8:30 for the SERVE DAY HUDDLE then Outreach volunteers will head down to Valley Rescue Mission in Columbus ready to share the love of Jesus by cooking hotdogs and handing out “Blessing backpacks”. Blessing backpacks contain items for personal hygiene, practical items, water, and nutritious snacks. Blessing backpacks will help the needy and homeless in our area. Blessing backpacks are packed on site as hot dogs are being cooked at Valley Rescue Mission 2903 2nd Avenue, Columbus, Ga., This is a PRAYER ministry for each hot dog and bag handed out each team member should be prepared toask the recipient for any prayer needs they may have and offer to pray with them!
We will have several different serve opportunities in one at this location. We will get the amazing opportunity to listen to, uplift, and pray for around 5 women from our community who are currently in early phases of recovery. We will also sort any donations they have received and get them in the boutique area. We also pray over each item going into the boutique. This also happens to be Harvest Movements big rebranding and open house (previously take the city), so there will also be assistance with this in whatever capacity is needed, however our main focus will be the ones above.
Providing care/special items for the ladies at Damascus Way. Examples: mascara-black, press on nails, eyeliner-black or brown, body sprays, lotions, coffee. These are just a few examples of things that they would love to have, but usually aren’t donated. Damascus Way has 21 beds that could be occupied so we would make 21 goodie bags for those ladies.
